A five-year cartridge reserve of $349.97 follows the official prices and maximum stated intervals checked on September 28, 2026. It includes two PCB cartridges and one RO cartridge. Add the $899.99 equipment price and the equipment-plus-cartridge planning total becomes $1,249.96 before installation, tax, shipping or service.

This is a budgeting convention, not a promise. High use or challenging feed water can shorten filter life. A promotion can also include spare filters and change the first five years materially. Capture the exact checkout bundle.

Why month 48 matters

Both replacement cycles meet at month 48 under the stated schedule. A buyer may need the $99.99 PCB and $149.99 RO cartridges in the same period. Saving a small monthly amount avoids treating that service event as a surprise.

Our calculation includes a replacement due within the five-year ownership window even when it occurs exactly at a period boundary. The initial cartridges are assumed to be included with the machine.

What can change the schedule

Incoming water, volume consumed, flushing, pressure and actual filter monitoring can change the replacement date. The app and faucet indicator are useful reminders, but keep the manual and do not reset a cartridge without replacing it.

Ask how VIOMI calculates remaining life and what symptom requires earlier service. A timer, volume estimate and measured performance are not interchangeable.

Installation and non-filter costs

The M1 needs the supplied touchscreen faucet, a drain connection, cabinet space and constant power. Add professional work when drilling or plumbing is outside your experience or local rules. Include any adapter, refrigerator line or cabinet modification confirmed for the installation.

RO also sends a concentrate stream to the drain. The page states a 3:1 pure-to-drain ratio under its conditions. Water cost is usually smaller than equipment and cartridges, but the ratio should still be understood.

Compare M1 with V8 Pro fairly

M1’s premium buys mineralized finished water, a touchscreen faucet, 1,000 GPD and longer stated intervals. V8 Pro costs much less and uses less expensive but more frequent Pro-series filters. Compare identical five-year horizons and include the actual bundle.

Do not compare M1’s sale price with V8 Pro’s regular price or vice versa. Save screenshots of checkout, included cartridges and written warranty.

The average helps comparisons, while the calendar tells you how much to reserve. Keep both views instead of presenting a smooth yearly number as the actual payment schedule.

Should filters be replaced only when the app says so?

Treat the app as one maintenance input and follow the current manual and water-quality requirements. Ask how the life estimate is calculated, watch for changes in performance and do not ignore a service condition merely because a percentage remains. When a contaminant claim matters, use appropriate verification rather than relying on TDS alone.

The M1’s stated long filter intervals make its maintenance budget understandable, but the machine’s high purchase price still dominates five-year ownership. Reserve roughly $350 for cartridges under the current maximum-interval plan and verify the exact bundle before ordering.
