Tap & Terrain
Good advice starts with your home.
Tap & Terrain is an independent publication about the water in and around the home: what comes in, what goes out and what needs looking after.
Our purpose
We help US homeowners understand a problem, compare sensible options and prepare for a purchase or professional visit. Our coverage connects water quality, wells, septic, leak protection, moisture and outdoor water.
How we write
We start with one reader decision per guide. Our initial articles use published government, university and manufacturer sources, paired with practical questions and comparison frameworks. AI assists research organization and drafting. We link the sources so readers can check them. We do not claim professional qualifications, field experience or product testing that has not taken place.
How recommendations work
A recommendation must explain who it fits, what it does not solve and what would change the decision. We do not sell rankings or invent product ratings. When we publish hands-on reviews, we will explain the exact model, method, conditions and limitations.
Keeping information current
The source-check date appears in each guide. Evergreen guides have a six-month review schedule; commercial articles are scheduled for monthly checks of volatile details. Changes in product guidance trigger earlier review. Dates change when the content is substantively reviewed, not automatically.
A publication with room to grow
Our guides connect six home-water topics. The latest buying articles compare named filtration and leak-protection products, explain replacement budgets and document important limitations. We expand coverage when the research adds a useful decision—not simply to add more pages.
