We would shortlist it after verifying the exact reduction claim and installation. We would choose the V6 Pro instead when 600 GPD is enough and the price difference is meaningful, or the M1 when mineralized output is a deliberate preference.
What changed in the Pro model?
VIOMI distinguishes the V8 Pro with app control, smart monitoring and a filter package built around a two-year RO800 and one-year PCB schedule. The current product page shows an extra PCB filter in the bundle, which can cover the first two years under normal stated assumptions.
Do not confuse V8 Pro cartridges with the non-Pro Vortex V8 replacements. Confirm the exact compatible part names before ordering. Similar housing names are a common source of expensive replacement mistakes.
Treatment evidence
The product page says the V8 Pro meets NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 58 and 372 performance or material requirements and describes SGS certification. Verify the exact scope in the current listing or report. Standards cover defined claims; they do not mean the product removes every substance mentioned in general marketing copy.

The capacity is generous for a drinking-water appliance. VIOMI lists 71 ounces per minute and an eight-ounce fill in about seven seconds. Real flow can vary with pressure, temperature and feed quality.
The V8 Pro makes the most sense for repeated bottle, pitcher, kettle and cooking-pot filling. If the household uses only a few glasses daily, the speed premium over a suitable slower model will have little practical value.
Installation and refrigerator connection
The system needs constant power, cold-water plumbing, a drain connection and a dedicated faucet opening. Its body is listed at 16.3 by 5 by 12.8 inches. Measure depth for tubing and front or top clearance for service, rather than comparing the five-inch width alone.
VIOMI says the V8 Pro can supply a refrigerator or ice maker with standard tubing that is not included. Confirm line length, pressure, connection parts and whether simultaneous dispensing affects performance. Never share the switched disposer outlet.
App and faucet value
The LED faucet shows status while the app adds consumption and operating information. This is useful for reminders, but neither a TDS display nor an app status proves reduction of a named contaminant. Continue any testing appropriate to the source water and concern.
