RO1200AK combines a high-output tankless membrane system with alkaline remineralization and two water paths. That can suit a busy kitchen, but speed and extra faucet functions add cost and complexity.

We would buy it only after confirming the exact reduction evidence for the water concern, replacement-filter prices and the physical installation.

What 1,200 GPD means at home

GPD is a membrane production rating under defined conditions, not the exact amount every home will dispense. Feed pressure, temperature and water quality affect output.

Compare the published faucet flow and the time to fill the containers you actually use. A smaller system can be enough for normal glasses and a kettle.

Dual-flow and alkaline water

The alkaline version adds minerals after RO and provides a separate flow choice. Decide whether both outputs will be used often enough to justify the model.

Remineralization changes taste and mineral content; it should not be treated as proof of a medical benefit.

Installation requirements

Plan for a cold-water connection, drain saddle, electrical outlet, dedicated faucet opening and sufficient cabinet clearance for the unit and filter changes.

List the exact composite and membrane cartridges, current prices, published intervals and expected shipping. Use the household’s real filtered-water volume rather than assuming every cartridge lasts the maximum time.
